Chocolate biscuit fridge cake

Quite simply the finest chocolate biscuit fridge cake. This is my entire cake repertoire, and is all I've ever needed.

Recipe goes like this (makes about 20 servings)

200g Butter
6 tbsp Golden Syrup
300g Dark Chocolate
450g Crushed Biscuits (digestives)
100g Raisins
100g Glace Cherries (quartered)

Melt butter and chocolate in a large bowl (by heating over a pan of boiling water). Add golden syrup.
Add everything else and stir well.
Put in a tupperware box and once cool, chill in the fridge.

Eat.
Get fat.
Repeat.

Brittany and JAlbum

Got back from a week in Brittany on Saturday. Rained a lot :-(
But the last few days were hot and sunny. Had a great gite which was between Rennes and Vannes, near a "petite cite de charactere" called Josselin. But we think the house had a poltergeist...

Lots of wine and cheese for the boys (myself and Huw), although none for the pregnant wives (Nicola and Nadia)!

Photos are here.

Which brings me to JAlbum. I was made aware of this great freeware photo album generator about a year ago, but never got around to using it. Anyway, the Brittany photos are created using it, so see what you make of it. It even handles the FTP upload for you...

Some modern portraiture

I've now got June's Digital Photo magazine - as usual, full of lots of good stuff, including how to shoot and Photoshop RAW format black and white images.
I must get to grips with that soon! :-)

There's also a "Modern Portraiture" feature, for creating photos that companies like Venture charge you large sums for. And it's really easy to get some pretty professional looking results. So here's my go at using their techniques using some pictures I already had:

First post - welcome!

So here it is - the first post of a new blog.
What do I need a blog for? Well, because everyone who's anyone in cyberspace needs a blog!
What's going to be on it? Photos, techie bits and bobs and general musings probably.

Also, I saw this article the other day - You're nobody unless your name Googles well - which although not directly relevant to writing blogs, reminded me that as a techie I could do with building my "online brand" (btw, I didn't appear at all in a vanity search on Google - There are too many other Julian Martins around!)
